Summer of Service 2023
YVC’s Summer of Service is an opportunity for youth ages 11-18 to grow personally while serving others. We use the principles of service-learning to make volunteering meaningful and educational. We implement activities, lessons, and guest speakers that emphasize career connections and skill development in the areas of communication, collaboration and leadership. YVC’s camp experience will allow the youth volunteer to cultivate a deeper understanding of how their service impacts their community.
Summer of Service weeks span several weeks through June and July. There will be four weeks of camp during Summer 2023. Each week's camp runs Monday through Thursday, 8:30am - 3:30pm. We complete service-learning projects each day with agencies such as Rebuild Upstate, AIM, PAWs, First Light (formerly Foothills Alliance), the Lot Project, and others.
We also play games, do service-learning lessons, and have a few guest speakers!
Summer of Service Camp weeks for Summer of 2023 will be June 12-15, June 16-29, July 10-13, and July 24-27.

Sign-upsSign-ups are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each week will have a max capacity of 10-11 youth. Parents/Guardians will be notified to confirm your child's spot in the camp week(s) you request. Once a project week fills up, there will be a waiting list. Those on the waiting list are not guaranteed a spot on the projects. Depending on demand, we may only allow each youth to sign up for one week. Please note your top choices for week(s) in your application. Youth with record of positive volunteerism with YVC will be given first priority.

Do you provide food?
We will provide a snack each day and water. Students should bring a bag lunch and a refillable water bottle. Please note that some projects will be outdoors and we may not have access to a fridge/microwave, depending on the location.

What is the registration deadline?
Many of our camps fill up early. We encourage you to register ASAP to secure a spot. Payments are due within two weeks of your SIgn-up or before the first day of the camp, whichever comes first.
Can I register my youth for half-day or part-time camp?
We do not offer a half-day or part-time schedule. If you are going to be late or need to leave early, please contact Renee' Hall as soon as possible.
Can I cancel a week of camp?
